This year’s program features the viewing and discussion of “Valentine Road.” “Valentine Road” is a documentary about the 2008 murder of Larry King in Oxnard, California. King, a gender variant youth of color, had publicly announced he had a crush on Brandon McInerney, a male classmate, who shot King twice in their classroom. The film focuses on issues of race, class, gender, micro-aggression, and our acceptance of difference in our schools. Join us for a fruitful discussion of the film and how this event affects all of us.
