TITLE: Using Inquiry Cycles as a Learning Strategy
DATES: April 17, 2013 4-7pm
LOCATION: East Side High School Library (Second floor), 238 Van Buren Street, Newark NJ 07105
INSTRUCTOR: Katie Strom
DESCRIPTION:
The inquiry cycle is a strategy that engages students by asking them to explore content based on student-generated questions. In an inquiry cycle, students have time to “wonder and wander” before formulating questions; conducting investigations based on their interests within a particular topic; drawing conclusions; and sharing learning. In this one-session workshop, take part in an inquiry-cycle simulation, learn about general and content-specific applications of inquiry cycles, and have time to brainstorm how you can adapt this strategy to your particular classroom setting/subject area.
Maximum number of Participants that can be accommodated: 20
