The Great Kindness Challenge Extended: Creating Leadership Skills for Students
Date: May 14, 2018
Time: 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Location: Memorial Middle School- Room 301 - 500 Ridge Road Cedar Grove, NJ 07009
Instructor: Lia Caravella & Amanda Hatzikyriakou

This hands-on workshop is an extension of the mini-course previously offered.  It will provide specific ideas, activities and examples for large scale, school wide activities relating to The Great Kindness Challenge and other community service opportunities. The Great Kindness Challenge helps to create leadership skills for students and empowers them to create a culture of kindness through global friendships, community service and simple acts of kindness.

The focus will be on how we as educators can create activities that will promote student collaboration across grade levels and/or the entire student body and how this collaboration can result in an empowering culture of kindness, both within the schools and the community. Work time will be allotted so you can brainstorm ideas independently as well as with sub groups.  You will have time to create a project, lesson or outline to be used in your classroom or school. Access to laptop cart will be provided. This workshop is offered to anyone who took the previous “Kindness Course” in addition to newcomers.

 Appropriate for all P-12 educators.
