Course: Teaching for Critical Thinking

Time: 9 am to 3 pm

Description: This course will focus on creating an environment and developing strategies for promoting critical thinking in the classroom. We will work on developmentally appropriate methods for modeling thinking, questioning strategies, problem-solving, metacognition, listening skills, and classroom interaction. Participants will be encouraged to examine their own lessons and units to infuse critical thinking throughout the curriculum. Suggested grade levels:

P-12 *Fulfills the MSUNER requirement for Teaching for Critical Thinking.

Course Location: Terence C. Reilly, School No. 7, 436 First Avenue, Elizabeth, NJ, 07026

(The school is on the corner of First Avenue and Loomis Street.  The entrance is on Loomis Street--attendees must park on the street.)
