How do we help children listen more deeply to music? This workshop will present listening lessons that facilitate critical and creative thinking for children in the elementary grades. Along with a range of music repertoire, teachers will participate in movement, playing classroom instruments, and singing activities that lead to meaningful music listening. Teachers will also learn to design questions and problem solving activities that go beyond typical music textbook approaches to music listening. In addition, assessment tools for critical and creative work will be addressed.

Grades: P-5, Elementary Teachers
