Educators will create opportunities in their classrooms to increase students' intellectual engagement. 

Core Session Objectives:

  • Understand the role of planning and reflecting in creating highly engaging lessons
  • Analyze the relationship between instructional groups and engagement
  • Create questions which promote student engagement
  • Select discussion techniques that are most effective in engaging students

Take Home Messages:

Students must engage with each other and with the content in order to learn and develop deep understanding, and it is the teachers' instructional choices that create those opportunities for meaningful student engagement.
