MSUNER Ready For Restart: Educating English Language Learners in the Pandemic
Date: October 8, 2020
Time: 4:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Facilitator:  Dr. Fernando Naiditch
Location: ZOOM

The pandemic has created additional challenges for English language learners (ELs), their families and their teachers. Access to technology, internet, meals, and school resources that are now scarce or have disappeared has resulted in a wide gap in the education and development of students for whom English is not the first language. In this session, we will discuss the effects of the Covid-19 outbreak on the education of ELs, their families and communities. We will focus on the resources, ideas, strategies, and approaches that can and have been used by different districts across the country to minimize the learning gap for ELs. We will also go over the United States DOE guidelines for teaching and assessing ELs during the pandemic.

  • Fernando.  It's been too long.

Would love to have you come out to Randolph to present to my students but since we are hybrid perhaps you'd like to come twice for A day and B day  I don't know how that'd work.  I could easily pick you up at the Dover Train Station and bring you back each day.  We could do lunch or dinner each day that you're here.    Diana Wisniewski, Enrichment Randolph MS
