The Keynote Address: Catalyzing Diversity

In this talk, Professor Fernando Naiditch will focus on redefining the way we understand and use diversity in our lives and how we can and should address it for educational purposes. It is time to change the framework used to merely recognize and/or embrace individual and group differences and move towards catalyzing diversity - a new way of organizing communities and groups to learn to think and act collectively. The talk will challenge teachers to recognize diversity not as what we look like outside or in terms of the groups or subcultures we belong to, but on how we can make use of our individual skills and tools in order to benefit the larger society, particularly given the complex problems we face in the 21st century.
