Mind and Movement is a suite of practical tools designed to develop students' creative thinking skills through movement- and imagery-based exercises. Developed by the Creative Learning unit of the UK-based performance company Wayne McGregor|Random Dance, the approach is based on methods used in the studio and grounded in research in cognitive science on how the brain uses different stimuli in creative making. This hands-on workshop, led by members of Random Dance, will introduce the Mind and Movement core principles through sample classroom activities. Suitable for K-12 teachers interested in using movement-based creative learning in both arts-related and non-arts classrooms.
