GOOGLE EARTH: THE CURE FOR THE COMMON ASSIGNMENT

Location:  Passaic Valley Regional High School, Little Falls, NJ

Instructor:  Billy Goodman, environmental science teacher, PVHS

Course Description: Do more with Google Earth than look up your house!  Navigate the globe, add data layers, then create placemarks that can have writing, photographs, and other objects.  Arrange the placemarks in a self-guiding tour that tells a story.  Students can create battlefield tours, author biographies, or exposés of environmental degradation around the globe, and then share their work with others. 

Appropriate for teachers of all core subjects, grade 7-12.

Three professional development hours will be granted for attending this mini course. Please note: MSUNER is a registered provider of Professional Development for the state's 100-hour requirement. You must attend a mini course in its entirety to receive recognition of professional development hours toward the state requirement. MSUNER regrets that it cannot grant any professional development hours if you are absent from any portion of the mini-course.
